Description
"Printed in black with decorative orange borders and ornaments. Illustrated with 14 plates, some color, some tipped-in. Vignettes and diagrams in the text. A color specimen also included. In printed wrappers with pictorial vignette. Written by Vladimir Anisimov, who graduated from the School of Printing in 1895 with First Prize for his graduation thesis, being a participant in a typesetters competition for an original idea in the execution of a cover composition using typographic material. After the October Revolution, V.I. Anisimov became the first director of the famous printing house named after I. Fyodorov (formerly R. Golicke and A. Vilborg), Fyodorov on the cover of this book. This typography was famous for producing elaborate editions pre-1917, with a tradition of bibliographic press associated with it. In the 1930s it also became important for producing Soviet parade editions."--,Paraphrased from bookseller.
