As things stand currently, we face two major failings in confronting this crisis. First, we lack the knowledge to overcome the existential threats before us. Second, the forces calling for change have adopted inadequate strategies, organisations, and leadership compared to the well-oiled machinery of the status quo. What we need is to jointly develop the missing knowledge and use it to take appropriate action, beginning with the creation of a new discipline, Global Science, to make sense of it all.
